Adult classes


We’re now offering open level classes in Beacon, NY!

Join A-Y/dancers Sunday mornings 10:30-12* at the Howland Cultural Center (477 Main Street) this fall for our brand new ADULT DANCE CLASS SERIES! Open to adults of all levels who want to get moving, get sweaty, and explore dance technique. Just $10 a class!

Wear anything comfortable you can move in. Socks, ballet shoes, and bare feet are all fine. We accept payment in cash, check, or PayPal. See class schedule and descriptions below.

Class Descriptions:

Open Level Ballet- Full ballet barre and center focusing on strengthening ballet technique, functional placement, and musicality.

Open Level Modern- Exercises in the center and traveling across the floor that explore modern dance lines, shifting weight, and moving through the space.

“Door #3”- It’s not ballet, it’s not modern… come find out what’s behind Door #3! An exploratory session with an emphasis on physicality and play.

*Are you an “absolute beginner”, but still want to try class? 30 minutes prior to every class, one of the A-Y/dancers will host a basics crash course, providing info on terminology and skills needed to attend class.

Note: There will be no class on 10/13, 10/20, 11/3, & 11/17
